The objective of the RECOLECTA project is to develop an intelligent and autonomous agricultural management system that determines the optimal harvest date for each crop (pre-prepared convinience food range), so that the competitiveness of primary sector producers in the food chain can be improved, as well as contributing to food security.
The ITC acts as a Public Research Organization (OPI) and, through its Environmental Analysis and Water areas, participates in the project with the aim of contributing to the knowledge of plant protection product residues, monitoring the quality of irrigation water and improving the cleaning process of raw materials in the packaging process.
The RECOLECTA Operational Group (Prediction of optimal moment for harvesting through thermal integral management of crops) is financed by the National Program for Rural Development 2014-2020 (PNDR), with an 80% of EC contribution through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and 20% funding from the State General Administration.
