Charla online dirigida a alumnado de Secundaria con el título 'Biotecnología azul y acuicultura vegetal marina: un futuro sostenible', ofrecida por Monserrat Alemán Vega, investigadora en biotecnología del Instituto Tecnológico de Canarias (ITC). Actividad enmarcada en las Miniferias de la Ciencia y la Innovación, organizadas por la Consejería de Economía, Conocimiento y Empleo del Gobierno de Canarias, a través de la Agencia Canaria de Investigación, Innovación y Sociedad de la Información (ACIISI).
OBJETIVOS: Concienciar al alumnado sobre la conservación del medio marino y dar a conocer el potencial que ofrecen las algas en ámbitos como la salud, la alimentación o la cosmética. Despertar su interés por la ciencia y la tecnología como herramientas para dar respuesta a los retos que amenazan al planeta (cambio climático, sobreexplotación de recursos...). Motivarles a indagar sobre las aplicaciones prácticas que ofrece la biotecnología azul y acercarles a conceptos como la sostenibilidad ambiental y la economía circular.
